This blog along with several others will be placed in stasis until further notice. It is unfortunate that this needs to be done, but is necessary due to a lack of time and contributors.
Any future entries that would have been posted in this blog will be now be posted in the NWSFS Science And Science Fiction News Blog. The sidebar links and RSS feeds will be kept intact for now.
If you would like to contribute to this blog, then please drop us a line at NWSFSNews at GMail dot com. Membership in NWSFS is not a requirement, though living in the Pacfic NW or Cascadia region is. There are just a few simple guidelines to follow.
OK, this article really has nothing to do with science fiction, but I do know that there are a lot of Lego fans out there and some of you have iPhones, so check out this blog post from Gizmodo:
Just a short note that I went though and deleted a lot of old or inactive blogs from the RSS feeds on the left.
It looks like a lot of people are abandoning MySpace which is not really news due to all the problems with MySpace. To be honest I don't blame them especially when there are alternatives such as FaceBook, Twitter, LiveJournal, and Blogspot.
I should also state that some of the house cleaning also reflects my intent to focus this page more on the blogs of Pacific NW writers and artists. If you have any suggestions of blogs that should be added to the feed by all means please let me know.
Lastly I have to once again put in a plug that I am looking for someone to help manage this page, so if you are interested please drop us a note.
A lot of effort goes into keeping the NWSFS News Blogs on Blogspot going, and we could really use some in help keeping up with all the news.
NWSFS News is currently looking for local fans or writers who are interested in participating in a news blog focused on the science fiction, fantasy, and horror fan and writing communities in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia). We specifically need help with the Blog Feeds and News, Science Fiction News Feeds, and Science News sections of this blog.
One of the nice things about using Blogspot is that "author" rights can be given to a large number of people, so anyone with a GMail Address or a Google Account can participate in the growth of this blog. If you have are interested then drop me a line and we can discuss getting you on board.
Just an FYI about this page. If you do a quick scan of the blog feeds in the sidebar you will note that many of them have been inactive for some time. Because of this I am going to do a little house cleaning and clear out many of them. Also, I want to focus this blog more towards local authors. If there is a blog feed you feel should not be deleted, let me know now by leaving a comment.
My plan is to post to this page more often, but until I can find another contributor to scan the blogsphere I will only be able to post no more than once or twice a week. ~ Jim

I caught this io-9 posting a while back and thought I should post it here for grins. The Unicat Amerigo International Unicatour does look like the ultimate in Zombie escape vehicle, but I doubt that many of us could afford it nor would it make for a decent commute. Take a look at some shots of the Unicatour in action, and check out this link for Unicat Amerigo International.
Personally I prefer the Landmaster from Damnation Alley. It's best vehicle to have when you are up against "killer cockroaches" (Read the wikipeadia article if you don't get the reference :-)
